The force is calling you!
When it
comes to talk about science fiction, space battles, army of robots, legendary
heroes, interplanetary trips or dozens of weird alien tribes, most of the people
think about one of the main known movie sagas: Star Wars.
If you are
a fan of them, you can enjoy next Christmas with the newest episode: “The force awaken”.
Remember,
“The force is calling you”.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Extra
information.
1st
question.
Can you
remember the names of the most popular Star Wars’ robots?
Yes, you’re
right. They are called C3PO and R2D2.
2nd
question.
Can you
call those robots in Latin Spanish?
Can’t you?
It’s worth it.
Citripio
(in English “ce” “three” “pee” “ou”) and Arturito (“are” “two” “dee” “two”)
It’s crazy.
Isn’t it?

HELLO
Should I say “hello” in class, everybody would say “hello”, but if I
added “Adele”, I bet most of you would answer “it’s me”. Who, in
this planet, hasn’t heard Adele’s new single a thousand times already?
And this is good, believe me, at least for teaching purposes.Mindful of the fact that one of the most important ingredients
in learning a language is motivation, what could be more motivating than
singing along Adele’s song now that it is being played everywhere?
I’ve just got here, and I think I’m losing signal already. Hello? Can you hear me now? Sorry. I’m sorry, I’m — Sorry
Do you know the meaning??
You are going to watch the video without sound; your task will be to narrate the story in the video.

NATURAL ENGLISH
Spending more time using natural English resources will help you in understanding the language intuitively.
Additionally, when you are learning new vocabulary you should learn it as a part of a sentence, never learn single terms.
Listening and reading music lyrics is a good way to do it, for instance you can practise with this song you surely know....

Unpronounceable.
The dictionary says that “unpronounceable” means:
“difficult or imposible to pronounce” or “not able to be uttered or
articulated”.
Two weeks ago a weatherman became famous on the net when he
pronounced the temperature of a little village in Wales. This village is now
famous as well.
There are more odd
and weird names in English too. There are a little list of some words that
sound strange for us.
- gallimaufry – a heterogeneous mixture
- to transmogrify – to change or alter greatly and often with grotesque or humorous effect
- tintinnabulation – the ringing or sounding of bells
- hobbledehoy – an awkward, gawky adolescent
- unclubbable – unsociable
- moiety – one of two equal parts: half
- termagant – an overbearing or nagging woman
- to discombobulate – to upset, to confuse
- sesquipedalian – having many syllables, i.e. long
- to cachinnate – to laugh loudly or immoderately
Do you know any curious words you would like to share? In case
you’re also a word lover, here is an article about curious words in many languages.

SHAKESPEARE AND CERVANTES' WEEK
How well he's read, to reason against reading.
William Shakespeare
On April 23rd 1616, two giants of Spanish and English literature died.
Spain's Miguel de Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, one of the world's
greatest novels, died in Madrid at 69 years of age. England's William
Shakespeare, author of wonderful poetry and many great plays, also died
in England at the age of 52(April 23rd was also his birthday).
People throughout the world are celebrating today World Book Day, to honor these two great figures of Universal Literature.

And here you have one of Shakespeare's sonnets, get inspired!!
SONNET 18
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

"Borrow" or "lend"? That's the question.
Sometimes it’s difficult to remember when we have to use one
instead of the other, mainly if you are a Catalan speaker. Let’s see the rule and some exercises. Remember: the more you use them the more confident are
you going to be.
1.
We use borrow to say that we take something
temporarily with the intention of returning it.
· Can I borrow your
car?
· She borrowed $100
from her father.
2.
We use lend to say that we give something
temporarily with the intention of having it returned.
· Can you lend me
your car?
· Her
father lent her $100.
· Her
father lent $100 to his daughter.
